Comment regarding a student's performance in SCIENCES VIE & TERRE.

"Un devoir raté. Le niveau est bien moyen par ailleurs. Vous devez trouver des points en restitution de connaissances."

I'm not really entirely sure what the French means here, or whether it's supposed to be "des points en restitution" or "en restitution de connaissances". Are the 'points' in question points (i.e. ideas) or points (i.e. grades/marks)? Nowhere else in the document does it refer to 'points' in the latter sense - it uses other terms such as 'niveau', 'résultats', 'notes'.

I'm baffled!

I think I finally translated it as: "You need to make up some points in the test of knowledge of the course content".

Thanks for all the input but... with a bit more research, I think I've found the answer. The term apparently should be "restitution [organisée] des connaissances" and it refers to a very specific type of test which is taken as part of the BAC in the subject Sciences Vie & Terre (and possibly other subjects too, e.g. maths). It consists of a test in which the student demonstrates their knowledge/understanding of the subject by writing a dissertation on a specific question, without access to reference materials. Failed homework. The level is quite poor in general. You must seek to score in pertaining knowledge acquisition. (The third segment indeed seems to be given as an advice; then the reference is to better grades)
