Cierto, Neil MUST be a typo as you say, but they could say either "a la salida del colector de admisión" or "a la entrada de admisión en la culata".

Although it seems that the "culata" has been practically blown up, so that everything is damaged (with valve stems as additional collateral damage)

Inlet/intake manifold?? "Saldas" looks like a typo for 'salidas' but that leaves a strange contradiction.
