Spanish term

comunicación fluida

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Environment & Ecology Bioengineering, biomass production, photobioreactor, patent
I am quite frankly stumped. Most of the references I find have to do with speaking skills and verbal presentations. other than that I find very few (almost none at all) examples used exactly in this way, and just as cryptically, without any further indication of what is being described by this phrase. I find no references to it outside of the biomass-producing reactors it is used to describe.

In this paragraph alone it is used three times and this pattern is repeated many times throughout the text. The example below is part of the description of the bioreactor's physical construction. The document itself seems to be part of a patent application.

At first, for lack of any better references, I thought it described a physical contact relationship that allowed for the free flow of fluids; the medium in which the biomass culture grows. But I have been told in no uncertain terms that this is far from the truth. So now I’m thinking some kind of solid surface connection, perhaps a joined manufacturing technique, or maybe something involving some kind of bonding. That’s not good enough, though, I need to know what it is.

Help, please.

That literal, huh? Hey, thank you for such quick responses! I found these references, of course, but distrusted the literality of it; perhaps a bad example that was copied and copied… but perhaps it is an accepted term. The possibility is just too high. I just need to know for sure.

Well, we have 23 hours and some change to go so lets see what else pops up.

But thank you very much for your answers, and your help. It is certainly food for thought.

fluid communication

Biomass conversion systems having integrated heat management and methods for use thereof
WO 2012088131 A3
Abstract
Biomass conversion systems may incorporate integrated heat management to operate more efficiently during biomass conversion. Biomass conversion systems may comprise a first fluid circulation loop comprising a hydrothermal digestion unit, and a first catalytic reduction reactor unit in fluid communication with an inlet and an outlet of the hydrothermal digestion unit; and a second fluid circulation loop comprising a reaction product take-off line in fluid communication with the

Fluid communication

I'm no expert in this field, but I found quite a few texts on the web using a literal translation, for example:

http://books.google.es/books?id=Mr90KPPoHI0C&pg=PA293&lpg=PA...

And a patent:

http://patentscope.wipo.int/search/en/detail.jsf?docId=WO201...

Hopefully, someone else can confirm or come up with a better idea. Good luck.

I should have mentioned that in the second reference, "fluid communication" is used in the abstract.

seamlessly/smoothly connected/linked

Fluida connotes molded, but if the comunicación is really bonded or
molded, the patent applicant would have used aglutinada or moldeada. Is it possible to get a diagram of this invention so that you can actually see what is meant?
Note from asker:
Hi Carole, thank you for your response. No, the diagrams that are available are concerned with the large scale design. This amount of fine detail is, apparently, (and sadly), not available from this source.

My interpretation. This is what it is.
