French term
normales au volume style
French to English
Tech/Engineering
Automotive / Cars & Trucks
design criteria for fresh
Some context for you:
L’orientation des ailettes est fonction du style retenu, en général :
ailettes normales au volume style
-pour barillet :
barillet flush au volume du style (impose donc la directivité en Z)
+ pas de directivité choisie en G/D.
-pour diffuseur à ailette :
Is this simply
fins are positioned normally to the fascia.

Hi,
I'm not sure that there is anything more to read into it than this. First you have "est fonction du style retenu". Presuming that "style" is style, it looks as though the position required depends on the style.
Then the text goes on to say that the other items must be positioned in a way that is standard for or in accordance with the volume of that particular style.
The first sentence says "au volume style" and the second "au volume du style" which leads me to believe that the "du" was simply left out by mistake in the first sentence.
Your question heading by the way says "design criteria for fresh" which is not particularly enlightening and doesn't really help determine the type of text you're translating.
:)

Note from asker:
Re last part, possibly the question was truncated. but should read 'Fresh air ventilation' |
Hi, as I've noted re a different question I'm continuing with a very 'loose' translation and making use of my engineering knowledge to 're-write' this text. If I didn't know any better I would say 'volume de style' was a hairdressing term!!! |
Hi, I actually used "fins normal to the fascia". Thanks for your effort, car manufacturers use some strange vocab. |

I'd translate in this way!

: This is not about compatibility, but rather requirements.
