the I lane
Agreeing with Deane and Anna i suggest 'lane' for 'gata'. My confidence stems from my knowing that gata in forestry is 'lane' (a passage cleared for vehicles, horses and people.

I channel
I am assuming that the building waste is sorted for recycling. This answer is much the same as Mats' , but I feel 'channel' fits waste management better. US Sites tend to use line instead of channel, but we will never know without much more context. For example, are there other "gator"?
