Spanish term
F.I.R.
Titulo de especialidad: Bioquimica Clínica (F.I.R).
I can't figure out what F.I.R. could stand for. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance! Let me know if any other information would be helpful.

May 23, 2013 08:09: Neil Ashby changed "Level" from "Non-PRO" to "PRO"
PRO (3): lorenab23, franglish, Neil Ashby
When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion
Proz is pretty big it takes a couple of months to learn about its features, which ones interest you, and then remember where to find them again afterwards! At least that's how it was for me for the first few months.....there's still lots of features and information out there that either I don't use or don't know about.
What lorenab means to say is: when posting questions for peers to help with, you have a choice between "pro" and "non-pro" question level. "non-pro" questions are relatively easy and are not usually posted from a professional piece of work (i.e. they are from homework and helping out a friend etc.). Whereas "pro" questions are more difficult, form part of a paid project and the person who responds with the most useful answer (if any) can be awarded "kudoz" points by you the asker. The kudoz points help raise the profile of the answerer - a little carrot incentive on the stick in front of the donkey.
IMO the most important thing is entering the term plus translation/best equivalent in the Kudoz open glossary (the person who enters the term, whether the asker or the answerer, also gets something called "Brownies" which can be redeemed for a small monetary value when you renew your membership at proz), generating a massively useful resource for all Proz members alike.
What an essay - you can tell I'm doing anything possible to avoid painting my new house!!!
