français term

lampe à incendie

français vers anglais Technique / Génie Sécurité Fire equipment
From a safety training module of a mining company (Mauritania):

"Le poste de l’ouvrier est face à la lampe à incendie n°15"

This appears in a list of hazardous situations being used as examples in the training course.

All suggestions are welcome.

Discussion

Marco Solinas (asker) Mar 2, 2013:
To: Claire The document is pretty free of typos (although the language is not great.) However, I did think of a "lance" as well. It could be thought that the worker's work station could interfere with fire-fighting in case of fire.
I am afraid that the surrounding text is not helpful; it is a list of hazardous situations (oil slicks on the floor, speeding inside the yard, not wearing chemical-resistant gloves...)
Claire Mercier Mar 2, 2013:
lance? Are there any typos in this training module? I'm just wondering whether they might have meant "lance" instead of "lampe".
Although, having said that, it's not dangerous to be facing a "lance à incendie". Anything before or after this sentence that could help?
