The plural forms would be 'pomes' and 'drupes'.

Thanks, both for the agreement and the alternative form. If we are talking about the pome, and I am still not entirely confident that we are, this fuller version works too.

Thanks. Your proposal that the translation uses the word 'pip' makes good sense if the original does refer to this kind of fruit, in that 'pip' is likely to be a far more familiar term for many of us.
