Swedish term

Anestesikliniken

Swedish to English Medical Medical (general)
A hospital has an "anestesiklinik", which includes operationsavdelningen, intensivvården mm.

Is there a more succinct way of tackling this in English than Dept of Surgery, Anaesthesia and Intensive Care?

Department of Surgery and Intensive Care

Don't know if this is the kind of answer you're looking for, but it's hard to convey the idea of a department that covers everything mentioned in the source text with _only_ "surgery" or "critical care" in the translation.

See section entitled "Recovering From Surgery/Intensive Care."

disagree Charles Ek : The scope of what's included exceeds this wording. See example at http://tinyurl.com/8l7g9ln (might even be the same location?)

Critical care division

I'm not sure you'll find an equivalent. The term I'm offering here is used at Massachusetts General Hospital, one of the leading hospitals in the U.S. – see the first link for this:
"The Critical Care Division of the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine is comprised of specialized medical intensivists holding board certification in critical care in addition to anesthesiology, surgery, or medicine. Our Division of Critical care is one of the oldest in the country. It began operating in the early 1960s as a unit specializing primarily in the care of complex patients with respiratory failure. Over the years, the practice of our Division has expanded to all branches of critical care medicine. Currently, our Surgical ICU admits critically ill patients that have undergone major vascular, thoracic, orthopedic, and general surgical procedures, as well as patients who have suffered from trauma and severe infections.

"Our 20-bed Surgical ICU is staffed 24 hrs a day with attending intensivists from the anesthesia and surgery departments and has continuous in-house coverage with trainees from various Departments."

There are other examples in a Google search for "critical care division" + "hospital" at the second link.
Note from asker:
Interesting, but it seems that critical care is a department alongside surgery and anaesthesia rather than including them. Food for thought, though, thanks!

Anesthesia Clinic

"•anesthesia clinic means: a space within the hospital in which you can talk to an anesthesiologist and a nurse in the days before your surgery"

Peer comment(s):

neutral Cynthia Coan : An anesthesia clinic in English wouldn't necessarily include surgical or critical care units. See reference I've posted on the subject.
