A group of people are talking about having a reduced budget to use, because they didn´t control teh money spent very well.
And they say: "We know that now the bill has come in."
Is this a kind of idiom, maybe? Or they are just saying something like "this is what he have left now".

I wouldn't say that this is a standard idiom but the meaning is defintely working on two levels (they have to pay their bills and it's time to take stock and review their financial situation)

My suggestion would be used in Spain meaning that "we have to pay the price of what we did" in a figurative way, but I don't know if this works in your specific target country.
