Spanish term

actuando una suerte de latinoamericanización

Spanish to English Social Sciences Government / Politics foreign policy

(simultaneously and successfully) setting/putting in motion a process of Latin-Americanization

Given the meaning of "suerte" below (que es nada más la primera de varias definiciones en el DRAE), including the word "process" might be a good idea. That said, I'm not so sure the word choice in the source text is very good.

I hope this helps!

suerte.
(Del lat. sors, sortis).
1. f. **Encadenamiento de los sucesos**, considerado como fortuito o casual. Así lo ha querido la suerte.

neutral TechLawDC : Caution: "suerte" is mistranslated here. "suerte" means "sort" or "kind", in this context. It does not mean "process of" (which is implied). Essentially, the translation of "suerte" was left out in this answer.

If you truly believe that´s the only meaning of "suerte" (based on what, I don't know), you might want to modify the translation you've posted yourself. According to the DRAE, there are 19 meanings of suerte; this is one of them.
