självskrotning av ett fordon

Swedish to English Other Automotive / Cars & Trucks
Hi guys!
Hope that anyone can help me out with the meaning of "självskrotning". Does it mean that i can dismantle my car by myself?? Here below the context:
"Har du själv skrotat ett fordon av annan fordonskategori än de som nämns ovan?"

I'm not sure this is the best way to say it, but it does mean that the owner scaps the vehicle themselves.

disagree Richard Green : I'm not too sure that we can use 'demolish' in the context of vehicles. I think we would use 'dismantle' or 'scrap'

totaling of one's own vehicle

If a vehicle is totaled, then in effect it has to be scrapped -- i.e., taken to a junkyard.
