Induction was initiated between OD 550 = 56 and OD 550 = 80 with addition of 16 mL IPTG (0.5 M) for the various strains. The dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration was controlled at 25% of air saturation. The DO was controlled first by impeller agitation rate and later by aeration rate. The pH was controlled at 6.8. NH4OH and H2SO4 were used for pH control. The head pressure was 0.5 bars. The cells were harvested by centrifugation 16 h post IPTG addition.

W zasadzie można dać tylko "ciśnienie", bo rozróżnienie na ciśnienie statyczne i dynamiczne jest istotne w mechanice płynów (gdy płyn się porusza) - w podanym kontekście chodzi o proces okresowy w bioreaktorze, nie występuje więc ciśnienie dynamiczne, a więc "head pressure" to po prostu ciśnienie w reaktorze (wiadomo, że statyczne).

: Nie wiemy, gdzie był manometr - poza tym ciśnienie nad roztworem jest takie samo, jak w roztworze, więc takie sformułowanie brzmi co najmniej dziwnie z fizykalnego punktu widzenia.
