Долгое время рассказывается о важности недопущения беременности из-за тератогенного эффекта. Общий смысл понятен, но конкретно эта фраза ставит меня в тупик. Это в переносном смысле и в другом значении? или надо таблетки брать в перчатках?

Females of childbearing potential (FCBP) must have a negative pregnancy test
before randomization into the clinical studies and prior to each re-supply of
investigational drug during the clinical studies.
• Sexually active FCBP must agree to use protocol-specified contraceptive
methods during participation in the clinical studies and for at least 28 days after
discontinuation from the study.
• Sexually active males (including those who have had a vasectomy) must agree
to use protocol-specified contraceptive methods during participation in the clinical
studies and for at least 28 days after discontinuation from the study (additional
precaution due to lack of data on effect on male sexual organs and sperm).
• Pomalidomide ( CC-4047) should not be handled by FCBP unless gloves are
worn. Tests to evaluate the carcinogenic potential of pomalidomide have not
been performed at this stage of the drug development process.
Other than the patient, females who are able to become pregnant and males who are
able to father a child, should not touch or handle the pomalidomide capsules, unless
gloves are worn.
