English term

hypotensive stroke subjects

English to French Medical Medical (general) neurologie
In the protocol, a more restrictive clinical criterion was adopted to exclude hypotensive stroke subjects who could potentially have their risk increased by a lower BP.
Je me demande si "hypotensive" concerne l'AVC ou les sujets

Discussion

SJLD Feb 6, 2012:
It does happen - see hemodynamic stroke or global ischemic stroke - but it's pretty rare. On the other hand, hypotension is not unusual after a stroke, and I'm pretty sure that's what they are talking about here. In any case, your translation could be equally ambiguous.

Thank you SJLD I had a little doubt, although I have never heard of stroke due to hypotension.
SJLD Feb 6, 2012:
patients who have had a stroke and are hypotensive - doesn't mean hypotension is a causative factor (like hypertension) in case you were wondering

"hypotensive" concerne les sujets... la réponse est d'ailleurs donnée dans la phrase "have their risk increased by a lower BP
