I am basing on the Egyptian legal system. Some cases are heard before a second-degree court, comprised of a single judge, while some other, as in criminal cases, are heard before a three-judge court, and this is the First-degree Court.
Both First- and Second-degree Courts are Lower Courts, not to be confused with the Court of Appeal, which is the Higher Court

الدعاوى التجارية الكلية هي الدعاوى التي يهدف بها رافعوها إلى حماية مراكز قانونية أو حقوق مالية أو عينية مُترتبة على أعمال تجارية بحكم ماهيتها أو بحكم المزاولة على سبيل الاحتراف أو المترتبة جـراء التصرفات والمعاملات التجاريـة متى مـا كانت تلك الحقوق المتنازع عليها غير مُحددة القيمـة أو تزيـد قيمتهـا عن 100.000 درهم ولا تتصل بالروابط العمالية أو بالأحوال الشخصية والتركات والوقف.
