Spanish term

frisar

to plaster / to cover with cement plaster

(cement) render (UK) / stucco (US)

"Frisar" means to cover a brick wall with a layer of "friso", which is defined here:

"Cement rendering is the application of a thin premixed surface of sand, cement and lime plaster to brick, cement, stone or mud brick. It is often textured, coloured or painted after application. It is generally used on exterior walls but can be used to feature an interior wall."

"Rendered brick surfaces have a coating of stucco, a durable aggregate that provides walls with texture.

"Limewash and whitewash has been applied to stone and brick walls, rendered (stucco coated) buildings, wood siding, logs, plaster and adobe."

"Stucco or render is a material made of an aggregate, a binder, and water. Stucco is applied wet and hardens to a very dense solid. It is used as decorative coating for walls and ceilings and as a sculptural and artistic material in architecture. Stucco may be used to cover less visually appealing construction materials such as concrete, cinder block, or clay brick and adobe. [...]
The difference in nomenclature between stucco, plaster, and mortar is based more on use than composition. Until the later part of the nineteenth century, it was common that plaster, which was used inside a building, and stucco, which was used outside, would consist of the same primary materials: lime and sand (which are also used in mortar). [...]
Modern stucco is used as an exterior cement plaster wall covering. It is usually a mix of sand, Portland cement, lime and water"

"which is more expensive, an outside rendered or brick wall?"
"You almost had me there with 'rendered' - in the US, we call it 'stucco'"
