I'm doing some keyword research for a website, and I have found the term "Vogeltränke" (mind you, NOT Vogelbad). Now, I know what it is, but what would the most accurate English translation for it?

1) Re Google hits: The principle is quality rather than quantity. A further check is to click on Google Images and see if the pictures displayed match your own criteria.

2) For marketing purposes, confusing and absurd-sounding combinations should be avoided.

3) IMO, the distinction being made here is an artificial one.

Also agree with Andrew Yes, I would also favour bird bath. although I see bird drinker being used, it just doesn't sound right and now, thanks to Ramey's comment, I know exactly why! Terrible image to try and shake: bird drinker= person who drinks birds!

The website sells bird houses, bird baths and "Vogeltränke". Basically it is the same as a bird bath, but so shallow that birds only use it for drinking, and not bathing. It is used for wild birds.

Not knowing the context, I'd assume that this is what it is. Google image also generates a lot of pictures of bird baths, which birds do drink out of. And it might indeed be bird baths if wild birds is what the website is talking about. Again with no context it's hard to say.
