English term

work off

English to Greek Tech/Engineering Ships, Sailing, Maritime Marine anchor systems / Underwater breaker
Καλησπέρα σε όλους,
Πρόκεται για υποβρύχιο υδραυλικό συμπιεστή που συνδέεται με ένα σύστημα μόνιμης άγκυρας. Θα ήθελα την έννοια του "work off" εδώ.

Παραθέτω κείμενο:

The χχχ anchor was developed to accommodate existing underwater hydraulic breakers.
The manufacturer recommends a minimum 90 pound class breaker with an equivalent chuck size of 29mm x 152mm
(1 1/8" x 6") shank. A 32mm x 152mm (1 1/4” x 6” ) chuck size will also work.
It is very important that an “underwater breaker” is specified. This breaker works off a hydraulic power unit
producing 16-18hp, generating 8 GPM (35 lpm) with 2000 PSI (13,780 kPa).

Ευχαριστώ πολύ.

Τhanks, Dave. I thought I had seen it before, I just wanted confirmation before posting it as an actual answer!
Dave Bindon Aug 11, 2011:
Συμφωνώ Similar to "the X works off a 240V mains supply". Not elegant English, but commonly used.
Theodoros Kalyvas Aug 11, 2011:
τροφοδοτείται Καλησπέρα Τίνα,

από τα συμφραζόμενα, πιθανολογώ οτι σημαίνει "τροφοδοτείται"
