French term

préc.

French to English Law/Patents Law (general)
From a document describing legal proceedings concerning a debt:

Pour approuver la solution alors adoptée, qui devait l'etre ulterieurement par la deuxieme chambre civil, Roger XXX indiquait (préc.): "....."

Another example:
Cf. Cass. com. 15 nov 1900, préc. ou, a propos de mesures conservatoires ou de remise en état,

I am guessing this stands for "préciser"

Précité (as aforementioned)? Was my first thought when I saw this. If that's right, I suppose the things mentioned here ought to have been mentioned previously in the document - are they? This is similar to your second example: "Cass. com., 24 février 1976, précité" http://www.village-justice.com/articles/Revirement-propos-po...
Elizabeth Niklewska (asker) Jul 11, 2011:
Not sure if this right - other cases have also been quoted in this text (as in example 2 of the use of "préc" and these do not use this abbreviation.

Or perhaps "précédent," refering to a "previous" document where Roger XXX was quoted?
