Spanish term

vanos

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering
Here are the two sentences where the word appears:

un paso elevado de 150 m de longitud y 9 de ancho hiperestático de 4 ***vanos***
una pérgola mixta de 7 ***vanos***de 12 m aproximadamente sobre pórticos metálicos

The text is about the construction of a motorway bypass and toll area and its auxiliary structures and I was wondering how you would translate "vanos" in this context as my preliminary research shows up a variety of different meanings for this word.
It is Spanish from Spain.

I see you also have "luz" in another question, which is "span", so I offer this in case you need two different words for the same sentence.

Reference:

Hola, te paso la información que me acaba de dar un constructor: Vano es un espacio sin construir, en este caso se referiría a tramos de la ruta sin construir.Suerte!
Peer comments on this reference comment:

neutral Sergio Campo : No en este contexto. Hablando de puentes, o cualquier otra estructura apoyada en pilares, vano es el tramo comprendido entre dos apoyos contiguos.
