"Die Rationale" erscheint mir im Deutschen doch reichlich seltsam, die Verbreitung dieser "Eindeutschung" beruht wohl eher auf unreflektierter Übersetzung/Übernahme. Im hier vorliegenden Fall könnte "Zweck/Ziel" sogar am treffendsten sein.
