Spanish term
PD
Spanish to English
Medical
Medical (general)
Oncology
It sounds to me like "secondaries" or "metastases". The patient has thyroid cancer and the hospital report speaks of: PD hepática y adenopática, PD osea esternoclavicular and so on.
Thank you in advance.

: Hola eski ... saludos from the cold, gray rainy Pacific Northwest :) Your admission of medical ignorance is exemplary! Yes, you really need to look at the whole sentence and see if your suggestion fits and makes sense within the overall situation!

PD
PD = progressive disease
Quite a common abbreviation in English so maybe it is being used as such in a Spanish report.
Surveillance radiographic imaging is usually performed frequently to detect progressive disease (PD)

Discussion

Kindly provide the Spanish sentence before and after the text. Do you have details of the stage of the thyroid cancer, ie. has it just been diagnosed, or is this patient receiving/has received chemo/treatment?
Is the cancer terminal do you know? Or has it just been diagnosed at an early stage?
