Lydia De Jorge (asker) Dec 26, 2010:
Hi Toni, Sorry about all this confusion! My comment about the language pair was not directed at you - a moderator had changed my language pair to EN>SP. I appreciate your help and hope you are having a great Holiday Season!
Toni Castano Dec 26, 2010:
Of course, SP into EN Sorry Lydia, the fact that your query term (puffers) is not actually "real" Spanish confused me. But meantime I am convinced that they mean "lift/elevator buffer(s)" i.e. "amortiguador del foso". ¡Feliz Navidad!
Lydia De Jorge (asker) Dec 25, 2010:
My context is in Spanish and it appears this term is used in Spanish. I need the translation into English. Thank you!

Also "de foso".

"De foso" is actually the right answer, "de fondo" is very seldom used.

It´s strange. Are they perhaps using the German word (Puffer) to say "buffer", which means "amortiguador de foso"?

I think the company in question is either using a German word to refer to "buffer" (= amortiguador de foso) o it is a typo (strange typo, though...). Or it is something different I´m not able to ascertain. But I think, the English "buffers" are meant here.

buffer

They are usually coiled springs.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Toni Castano : If you´re so certain, why don´t you confirm the answer I posted before which says the same: "buffer".
