In trying to keep as closely to the Japanese as possible, a synonym for folding or creasing is pleating. This will not stray in definition from the Japanese wording "折り目."

: Sounds good if 折り目 is correct, although your logic is backwards as this part should have no flexibility (伸展のない折り目の密な部分).

Good point, Julian! I think 折り目 sounds good, too, if correct. In this case, then, it is so finely-pleated that it does not allow expandability. (So, in utilizing such super-fine pleating, the fabric's expandability is purposely made to not to occur.)

My guess is that it is a typo for 織り目, which would seem to make more sense in the context, hence my suggested answer.

Do any of the other examples of 折り目 in the text make sense if translated as "fold" or "crease", or do they all make better sense if you assume they should all be 織り目?
If they all seem to make more sense as 織り目, then perhaps they are just all wrong. In that case I'd be tempted to translate assuming 織り目 and provide a note of explanation to the client.
If all other examples of 折り目 make sense as they are, then it could just be that this one example should actually be different, but was typed incorrectly out of habit or through overly trusting the kanji input routine. Again, in the absence of any information indicating that 折り目 is correct, I would probably go with 織り目 and include a note.
On the other hand, there could be a perfectly reasonable explanation for why 折り目 is correct here.
