Spanish term

es el caso que desde hace tiempo

Spanish to English Law/Patents Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs Divorce decree
"Es el caso que desde hace tiempo nuestra relación matrimonial se ha quebrantado significativamente".

I want to use "es el caso" (not omit it) to have a more dramatic effect... any ideas?
