Tutiorism
It means in a course of action which takes the safer moral or ethical route as being probably the best - when no other clarifying or defining facts are there. It is the opposite of Laxism - choosing any route. It is closely linked with doing the least harm. From the Latin comparative of the adjective "safe", tutus, tutior, tutissimus. Pronunced TUT-see-or-ism. Sometimes called Rigorism. Quite a specialist field of Catholic ethics.
