Czech term

přípravky chránícími hospodaření s draslíkem

Czech to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals
Could this be a version of the term for "potassium-sparing agents"? I'm not sure it's recognised as a standard term.

Just want to make sure. Elsewhere, I've seen "kalium šetřící".

Discussion

Dylan Edwards (asker) Apr 14, 2010:
"Medicinal products", definitely - but I often prefer "agents" when there's an adjective referring to the action/effect of the drug.
Markéta Vilhelmová Apr 11, 2010:
Hi, I would prefer products instead of agents. Medicinal products are léčivé přípravky in Czech.
Dylan Edwards (asker) Apr 11, 2010:
I've now seen something similar in Slovak, within the same document, which is in various languages.

"přípravky chránící ...": I haven't seen this version anywhere else in Czech. It may be a translation from English or some other language.
Dylan Edwards (asker) Apr 11, 2010:
"potassium-preserving" (which I've just seen) is perhaps another possible version in English.

And also, "kalium šetřící" sounds clearly as a term taken from English

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank you, Kostas. As it turns out, "potassium-sparing" (and also "potassium-preserving") is the term used in the related English-language information about the same drug (a diuretic), so I think I'll stay with this."

true, diurectics tend to deplete potassium, but the regulating extends to many other diseases.
