neutral Tony M : I think you may be misinterpreting the source text; I'm pretty sure this is the diode that actually does the charge-splitting, rather than a mere indicator of it.

Not sure Tony, that would be répartiteur de charge.

diode de répartition de charge

In my experience of translating tons of documents about marine electrics, these are usually a pair of thumping great heatsunk isolating diodes, arranged back-to-back in such a way that the charging voltage fed to the midpoint is slit between the two (or more) batteries to be charged, without the individual loads of each battery being able to 'drain' the 'wrong' battery. Absolutely bog standard circuit technique in lots of electronic / electrical fields.

As Manu says, this would generally be called a « répartiteur de charge » — I only suggest wording it this way in order to work in the 'diode' bit.

Not really, manu. I don't think this is anything to do with LEDs at all; please see added note under my answer...

neutral Tony M : There is nothing in the context as given to indicate that this is anything more than a simple diode arrangement, so the more sophisticated unit you're describing could amount to over-translation
