When it comes to comparing one washing machine with another, especially when looking at commercial machines, the gravitational force applied when removing the water during the spin cycle is very important, as it means more water can be removed mechanically before placing the clothes in the tumble dryer. This is a good thing.
To work out just what the g-Force of your machine use the following formulae
g = 0.56 x D (n/1000)²
where D = the Diametre of the wash drum in mm
and n = to the RPM for the spin cycle
Therefore a machine with a drum size of 800mm with a spin speed of 1000 rpm the G-Force is calculated as;-
g = 0.56 x 800 x ( 1000/1000)² = 448
So in the hand book the G factor would be given as approx 450g
