Italian term

maglia collo a lupetto

Non-PRO Italian to English Other Textiles / Clothing / Fashion Fashion
It is like a high neck pullover, but the neck is just 4-5 cm high and most times not folded, usually for women.
Please specify if your proposed translation is US or UK. I need the latter but it would be intertesting to see if there is a difference.
Many thanks for your help.
(It is not very urgent.)

3 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "I will go for 'turtleneck jumper'. Funnel is also interesting but possibly a bit higher than the 'turtleneck'. I think that the 'polo neck' is folded, whilst 'polo shirt' is the traditional tennis shirt. A bit confusing. It seems that some catalogues and web sites give different definitions to the same type of neck. Many thanks to all of you. Mirella"

mock turtle neck

In the States a turtle neck is the higher version that is often folded over.
A mock turtle is the one you refer to.

For us a crew neck would be a simple close round neckline. I\'m surprised to see that it seems there are no specific terms in British English for these various necklines.

crew neck sweater

UK. Website example below although there are many examples of "round neck sweaters" also called "crew neck" (erroneously in my view).
Second example is US picture of "funnel neck sweater (new to me).

TUTLE-NECK JUMPER

HIGH, CLOSE-FITTING NECK ON A KNITTED GARMENT
This is British English
I found this definition in The Oxford English Reference Dictionary in confirmation of my own background knowledge.
