German term

Welle

German to English Medical Medical: Dentistry Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Periimplantitis - Welle - Wie können wir dieser entgehen?

From a list of speakers' topics for various conferences.
Is "Welle' just 'wave' here? I can't confirm this from google searches. I can't provide more context as it is just a list of speaking topics. The field is oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Proposed translations (English)
3 +3 incidence
3 outbreak

Discussion

Audrey Foster (X) Sep 5, 2009:
'Welle' in the sense of... ...'spate', maybe ? Increase in peri-implantitis ? Or, taking a cue from Johanna's answer, increased incidence of peri-implantititis ? Just thinking aloud with you (all) here.

yes, this also yields the most G-hits. I just wanted to keep the image of the wave ... at least in part (rise.. at bay)
