חיה/Chaya

Hi,
Chaya is a name of a person.
It also means an animal, or a female form for living as in she is "chaya" (living).

Good luck!
Peer comment(s):

agree snatalieg : it can also be used in a semi-derogatory form in Yiddish. If you call someone a chaya you mean they're pretty "beastly" or rotten!

animal; also: alive (female)

2 meanings:
1) general word for "animal"
2) "alive" in regards to a female. i.e."she is alive", "she lives" or in the past tense "she lived".

Hope this helps
