I think that "has not caught on" is a bit too informal in register to be appropriate for the present context.
OR:
"has not enjoyed wide acceptance"
Of course, this phrase would *not* come at the beginning of the sentence in the English translation. Once again, syntactical manipulation is needed.

Not that I would necessarily put too much stock in such things, but I think it at least suggestive that there are 99,800 Yahoo hits for the combined terms "wide acceptance", "distribution" and evaluation.
I do not think "caught on" is wrong, or that it is jarringly incongruent with the rather formal business context. I simply think that the choice that I've offered is "more congruent" with the register of the text.
