this relates to community designs and is from a judgment "si force est donné au titre en matière de propriété industrielle, le juge doit quand même examiner les moyens de défense tenant à un défaut de validité du titre" - does this mean "although registration is conclusive...." - any better ideas??thanks

That's my understanding. I'm not sure exactly what "titre" is here. Trademark, patent?
It should read "force est donnée" (two "e's)

I think that this is saying that even if the judgement recognises the claimant's title, the judge must still set out the arguments that might have been valid to challenge it, in order to dismiss them and so to minimise grounds for appeal.
