English term
... with the latter also being recognized as an elevated body burden...
English to French
Medical
Medical: Pharmaceuticals
Here is the excerpt from a pharmaceutical article:
"these conditions are exacerbated by an increased sensitivity to exposure to aluminium with the latter also being recognized as an elevated body burden of aluminium."
I understand the latter refers to aluminium, but the wording is unclear. Does "with the latter..." imply a necessary condition and therefore becomes in French: "quand la charge corporelle de celui-ci est superieure a la normale." ? -or should the sentence translate differently into French?
Does anyone have any suggestion? Thanks!

quand le taux corporel en aluminium est supérieur a la normale
conveys the meaning. But "charge corporelle" does not sound quite right to me.

I think "the latter" refers to "increased sensitivity to aluminium" (not just the word aluminium). In this case, it would mean that the body perceives (or senses) an elevated level of aluminium, even if it is within normal ranges, because it is more sensitive to it.
