Spanish term

índice de conversión del escaparate

Spanish to English Marketing Marketing retail branding
Hi there, this appears in a website for a retail branding agency. I'm wondering if there is a set expression for this in English...here's the context:

Mediante elementos cualitativos como la observación directa, el video-seguimiento o el ojo espía, profundizamos en variables de gran utilidad para la toma de decisiones como **el índice de conversión del escaparate** o los índices de fuga.

Hmm, I´m not too sure there´s a nice neat way of saying this. Will work on it!

Hi Lisa - It could well be used on its own to mean the transition from potential buyer to buyer, according to a sentence in the link I gave you above:

Why should a retailer measure their conversion rate?
"Conversion rates quantify the ratio of potential shoppers that have decided to buy."

I´m not 100% sure, but looks like it.

or maybe "conversion rate of window shoppers to buyers"

yet another option: ""window shopping to actual purchase"
Note from asker:
At the moment I just have "conversion rate" do you know if the term in itself implies that transition from potential shopper to shopper?? Or do you think I need to say something like that to clarify??
Peer comment(s):

agree Kate Major Patience : Hi. "Conversion rate" deffo. What about something like "from window shopping to real sales" or something like that to follow? I´m not so hot on business speak, but aren´t we talking about something like that?

Thanks Kate - not a bad suggestion. I think we would have to use 'purchase`here though, as the customer is window shopping and then buying.

agree Diane Kenyon : A Good Conversion Ratio Takes a Lot of Visitors! [Traffic Analysis] Commonly we hear that a 1% or 2% Conversion Ratio is good. But the numbers mean different things to different people.www.sitepoint.com/article/ratio-takes-lot-v
