religious holidays (أيام الأعياد والعطل الرسمية religious and public holidays)

أيام الأعياد are religious holidays

أيام العطل الرسمية are public holidays

together they are "religious and public holidays"

Example (in this case applying to Islamic culture, but also applies to Christian culture):

Most ***religious and public holidays*** depend on moon-sighting within a given month or week of the Islamic calendar (Hijri), which is about 11 days shorter than the Gregorian year.
