ski touring
Done on wider skis and with different poles and boots to "normal" cross-country skiing, and not on groomed trails. Ski touring is the Alps seems to be much more like ski mountaineering from the descriptions I've seen in tourist brochures. Up here in the north of Sweden "turåkning" usually involves getting out into the mountains, anything from a long day trip to a week or more.

cross-country ski tour
skidtur = you go skiing in the woods, maybe to some nice place where you have a picnic, and then return home, all in one day

Not sure that the "tur" bit refers to a "trip", without having seen the context.
My suggestion would be that this is a term derived from the Norwegian term for going cross country skiing - att gå på tur

It was not clear to me that the asker referred to a ski-trip. Looked as though he referred to any type of trip or excursion..
