E' un documentario sulle rivoluzioni di velluto nell'est.
Non riesco a tradurre l'espressione tra gli asterischi:
"These people in Serbia were consciously softening up the military and to some degree the police so they wouldn't be so brutal in their repression when the resistance came.
A couple years before Milosevitch came down, these 14, 15 years old boys and girls were sending care packages to the police. Something little… I don't know, food or whatever to weaken their moral in their being so Milosevitch. And then now later on, they will (try) conscious efforts to contact higher officers in the police so that when the contesters came, the police would let them **go right on (to them)**".
Si accettano delucidazioni...
Grazie a tutti!

To 'go on' is 'continuare' and the 'right' adds a little emphasis. 'To them' is incorrect after this phrasal verb, dunque suggerisco che la persona che parla intendeva dire 'go right UP to them,' cioè 'avvicinarsi.'

dal contensto mi sembra di capire che la polizia avrebbe fatto finta di niente, avrebbe chiuso un occhio o entrambi nei loro confronti, li avrebbe ignorati insomma
