Board of Elections
I have been a certified translator for 17 years and used to translate the term very literally too. However, I always wondered what are its exact duties and functions.
Summarizing, this means it is in charge of directing/supervising the elections while also taking care of identity matters.
In the US election system, the Board of Elections does pretty much the same thing.
