Spanish term

régimen pluviométrico

Spanish to English Science Environment & Ecology Hydroclimatology
An article describes the "régimen pluviométrico" of a given region. Is "precipitation" precise enough? Or is there a more exact English equivalent? (No guesswork please.. I already have a list of guesses. Only reply if you know the answer. Thanks!)

rain gauge readings

No, I'm not completely sure either, but perhaps "rain gauge readings" for the region (we don't have ytour original CONTEXT) might fit the bill.

"Pluviométrico" tells me we are talking specifically about what the rain gauge says.
