French term
le chemin des dames
May offend
French to English
Other
Slang
"Le poil qui va du nombril jusqu'au bas-ventre, appellé aussi *le chemin des dames*."
I certainly don't know of any nickname for this particular hair (on a guy, I specify). For info, I'm not looking for a made-up name but one that is actually in current use, if such a thing exists.
Many thanks.

happy trail/funny trail/crab ladder/joy trail/snail trail/treasure trail
Well - here's my post, although credit is really due to Wiki and I can't say I've heard any of them in practice...! Eeek.
Someone may come up with something different.

Comment: ""Treasure trail" it is (good one Tony for the "family jewels" quip!). Special mention for Wendy's "highway to heaven." Sorry if I spoiled everyone's lunch!"

There could be other slang idiomatic expressions
Note from asker:
Hello Odette and thanks. Do you have any examples of this expression in actual use? |

: I think that is used in many other more innocent connotations, but I don't believe in this particualr slang sense (AFAIK?)

runway lines [not quite the same thing]
Well, I thought I was the specialist in this area, but I have to admit that I don't actually know of this term!
I have heard it referred to as 'the Bermuda Triangle' (all who enter there are lost!), but I'm not entirely sure if that is commonly in use.
Otherwise, the word I suggested above really refers to the 'landing strip' formed by the descending V-shaped muscles of the male abdomen. Happy landings (at least if the runway lights are on)!

highway to heaven
This is how I have heard it called in various womens "magazines", although it is a bit corny!!!!
See item number 11: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=snail trail&p... WARNING: This page contains quite graphic descriptions.
This webpage also gives "snail trail" "happy trail" "garden path" or "treasure trail" as alternatives, although I have not heard these before.

: I like the idea, though I can't confirm from personal experience. Only... I'd have thought for 'heaven' it ought to point UPwards, no? ;-))

Thanks Tony, although I suppose all lines can go in both directions!

Thanks Tony too (I actually blushed reading your answer!) and Odette.
