MSP 1+1 protection is available for bandwidth speeds of STM-1 and STM-4. It provides you with an additional interface so that, in the event that one interface fails your traffic will automatically switch to a back up card/interface. XXX equipment supports uni-directional, non-revertive MSP 1+1. Bi-directional MSP 1+1 can be supported on a case by case basis. Tests are required to ensure that XXX’s MSP interworks with your MSP. There are additional charges for providing MSP1+1 protection which applies to both ends of a point-to-point tail.
