Hello everybody
I am doing a translation on the Pauline Communities in Corinth and the term 'asamblea', in the sense of the group of people gathering, appears quite often. Can this be translated as 'assembly' Is 'assembly' the meeting itself or can also refer to the group of people?
Thanks!

assembly
Used to describe religious meetings. When I went to school many years ago, we had morning assembly to say prayers for the day.

also in Scotland there is a Church of Scotland General Assembly, which is both a building and where the General Assebly is held.

congregation
The usual word for groups of (usually Christian type) worshippers. Assembly could mean a more specialised group, for example of ministers/priests bishops etc, like the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.
