English to Arabic Other Government / Politics

There was not a lot of intelligence gathering. Most of the CIA assets that had been in Iran, had left the country at some point during the revolution. There was no real viable human intelligence assets that could tell us what was going inside the Iranian government.

I need the meaning of "assets" in this context. Thank you!
