it's not cortes but thanks Nip - (1) A short turn or twist in a line. (2) The seized part of an eye splice.

más I just found in Webster's the following definition in nautical context:

to seize (a taut rope) to another rope, as an anchor cable to a messenger from a capstan.

I am thinking sujeción may work here?
