Simply put, it means that the judgement has been signed and filed officially by a judge, giving it the legal force of a judgement.

There are also such things as “modified final judgments,” which of course would suggest that not all final judgments are final.
It simply means that the particular court is finished with the case (unless they re-open it), and it can be taken elsewhere (if the procedural rules allow), as opposed to a pending case, where except for extraordinary circumstances, no other court can hear the case or matters relating to it until the court hearing it issues its final judgment.
“court” here refers to levels of courts within a judicial system, not to lateral courts on the same level.
