Spanish term

hechuras

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general) Summary of Fixed Assets
This is for a Spanish company involved in just about everything related to precious metals.
The document contains the current value of "hechuras" and merchandise.

My working version is "worked pieces". Sounds terrible and awkward, but my brain is a bit fried right now!

Thanks in advance.

Discussion

Nedra Rivera Huntington (asker) Apr 20, 2006:
Actually, I've decided to change "merchandise" to "goods".
Nedra Rivera Huntington (asker) Apr 20, 2006:
It's not clear. Have done lots of work for this client, and nothing has lead me to think jewelry. On subsidiary works with industrial platinum.
marybro Apr 20, 2006:
what kind of merchandise? are you referring to jewelry?

neutral Kim Metzger : A native English speaker would have no idea what "made-up pieces" is supposed to mean. "done in workmanship"?

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks to you all for the many suggestions. I chose this one, as it seemed the most general to apply to metal work. My other choice would have been "finished pieces", but this was used elsewhere for "productos terminados". As this was not a translation on the specific topic, but financial in nature, I thought the most neutral the better, hence I didn't used "forged". Thanks again."

It's seems to fit. Thanks, marybro, y saludos :-)
neutral Jennifer Levey : The context is : 'Bus/Financial - Business/Commerce (general) / Summary of Fixed Assets' - I don't know if Nedra's client will be happy with talk of forgeries!

Please see the definition above. You might want to reconsider this. Forging is what artists, blacksmiths and others do to shape metal into useful objects.
agree Kim Metzger : Hand-wrought pieces might work http://engagementrings.pricescope.com/platinum.asp
