(i.e. there is a case for using quote marks when introducing a new technical term)

agree Ken Cox : 'narrrow-band interferece source' and 'source of narrow-band interference' are both commonly used terms, so no need for quote marks. I''d personally use 'interference sources' for 'Störquellen', but I wouldn't categorically refuse 'interfer'// Fine.

Thanks Ken. I would only recommend the quote marks for " 'narrow band interferers' ", not for any full phrase including "source".
